Kick Off Event and Community Outreach
The initial phase of public engagement provided residents and stakeholders an opportunity to learn about the current and future trends impacting the City of Portland and provide input to shape a vision for the city's future. A kick-off event was held on May 23, 2023, at the Richland Park Gym.

Town Hall Event at the Temple Theatre
The second phase of public engagement offered attendees a chance to review and comment on the initial findings from prior community meetings and learn more about regional growth forecasts and the possible opportunities and challenges that will come with the anticipated population growth in the City of Portland.
On January 25, 2024, a town hall event was held with a keynote presentation by Nancy Williams, TN Main Street Director with the TN Department of Economic and Community Development, will address the importance of leveraging the Preserving Portland planning process and vision set by the community to build on existing assets to strengthen community character and grow small businesses.
